How the Church Came into Existence: We have received through Mr. James E. Padgett, a Washington, D.C. attorney who became a psychic medium of the greatest degree of excellence, automatic writings from the World of Spirit, commencing in the year 1914 and continuing until 1923, from spirits who signed themselves Jesus of the Bible and Master of the Celestial Heavens, St. John, St. James, St. Peter, St. Stephen, St. Paul, St. Luke, and others of the Master's disciples and apostles and followers, as well as many spirits from the Old Testament and ancient times, some of them living in exalted spheres and others in darkness and suffering in expiation of misdeeds while on earth.; These writings state that souls, whether on earth or in the Spirit World, can progress into a condition of purity, light and happiness without the need to return to earth, and can simultaneously come into possession of God's Divine Essence of Love through undergoing a transformation in soul from the human into the Divine, if they will only turn in earnest prayer to God for His Divine Love, which is conveyed into their souls through the agency of His Holy Spirit, thereby making possible the new birth of soul--the At-onement with God in His true Nature that makes their souls Divine and Immortal.; These revelations from Jesus and his Celestial co-workers are in reality the Gospel which Jesus preached on earth revealed anew, and which he declared to Mr. Padgett would satisfy and fulfill all of the promises of the Scriptures as to his second coming because he was revealing the truths which he taught his disciples and followers when on earth as the Messiah--the Glad Tidings that the Heavenly Father had rebestowed upon His children the privilege of receiving His immortal Divine Love which bestows eternal life upon all souls that receive It, this constituting true soul salvation; and, further, that only by earnestly seeking this transforming Love and receiving It will the Father's children come into possession of the Kingdom of Heaven.; Four volumes containing original transcriptions of these writings have been published by the Church and are entitled TRUE GOSPEL REVEALED ANEW BY JESUS. Jesus has referred to the first two volumes as the holy texts to which all other editions must refer as the source and inspiration. Volumes I and II in their entirety are included below. No other versions of these vital books are published by the Foundation Church of the New Birth.; The Church leaders seek to follow Jesus' instructions to his Founding Trustees given through his second chosen mortal instrument, Dr. Daniel G. Samuels, during the years 1954-1966 regarding the functions and programs of the Church of the New Birth. Soul development through seeking and receiving the Divine Love of the Father is emphasized, with the goal of At-onement with the Father and a consciousness of Immortality, the true purpose of His creating our human souls. Psychic development as an end in itself is not encouraged for the reason that it can lead away from dedication to the soul's development and exposes the mortal to the risk of deception by imposter spirits who readily impersonate Jesus of Nazareth and other well known spirits.; To avoid any confusion that may be created by spirit imposters attempting to inject erroneous interpretations into the Church's teachings, or instructions that are contradictory to those previously given by Jesus of Nazareth, no additional automatic writings are sought by the leaders of the Church. We base this policy on an unshakable conviction that the true and only way to soul salvation and an abode in the Celestial Heavens has been thoroughly explained in TRUE GOSPEL REVEALED ANEW BY JESUS and the supplementary writings delivered through Dr. Samuels--that when these truths are earnestly embraced and put into practice, the desired goal of At-onement with the Heavenly Father's Divine, Immortal nature which Jesus of Nazareth was the first to experience and manifest may become the conscious possession of every soul.; We know from experience that earnest, heartfelt prayer and longings to do the Father's Divine Will opens the soul's perceptions and the mental receptivity to His Divine Guidance; that such prayer also brings the influences of the high Celestial spirits, including Jesus of Nazareth, who constantly seek to do the Father's Divine Will and remain completely supportive of the work of the Foundation Church of the New Birth.; The Church of the New Birth is an interdenominational church without walls . . . a through-the-mail, nonprofit church incorporated in January 1958. Its teachings fulfill the highest moral standards of the Judeo-Christian churches, the Ten Commandments of the Lord, adding to these the Eleventh Commandment given by Jesus of Nazareth to his disciples: Love one another as I have loved you--meaning from the Divine Love of the Heavenly Father received into the soul.; The purpose of the Church of the New Birth is to bring the vital revelations contained in TRUE GOSPEL REVEALED ANEW BY JESUS to the attention of humankind so that each soul may choose for himself or herself whether to seek At-onement with the Heavenly Father in the true and only way provided by Him--through earnest prayer and soul longings for the reception into the heart and soul of His Eternal Essence of Love.
